  • Fellow Blue Knights please forward this to all SRC chapters and members:

We in the SRC have created a SRC disaster relief fund for assistance to our members after a devastating disaster such as hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

As we have seen hurricane Harvey has hit 10 members hard in Houston and a local Texas chapter is handling the donations for those members.

We were lucky with hurricane Irma in Florida with no major devastation reported from any of our members.

Hurricane Maria has devastated Puerto Rico.

PR I newly formed this past year, the only chapter on the Island, and from last report no one except the President Alfredo Delgado has sustained devastating losses. Some have damage but no total losses of homes.

Alfredo has lost his entire home, though he has insurance on the structure and reports he should have a rebuild covered, but all the personal property and furnishings will not be replaced.

As well we have many LEO’s that may need assistance.

The SRC will take any contributions and get them to the island to the Chapter for them to use to assist the members and any LEO affected families that they can.

The SRC Treasurer will be receiving checks at his home address and they will go into the savings account we have opened for this call out.

    Donations can go to:

    Al Fryer SRC Treasurer

    6320 Clegg Road

    Pensacola FL 32536

We thank you all for your assistance and will report when we send the funds.

    Rory Mac Connell

Chairman, SRC Blue Knights International LEMC

Location: Ashbury Suites –600 West Interstate I-65 Beltway,  Mobile, Alabama
Dates: April 11-14, 2019  We choose this weekend so there is no conflict with Easter (April 21), the GA. Law Ride or High School and College graduations that usually begin the first week of May.
Anticipated Cost of Registration: $70 in advance / $130 per couple in advance
$80 (if registering less than 30 days before event) / $150 per couple
Anticipated Room Costs:  Exterior Rooms – $65 (plus tax)
                        Interior/ Tower Rooms - $75 (plus tax)
                       Suites - $100 (plus tax)
Note: Rooms will include a full hot breakfast
Picnic – Details of exact nature of the picnic will be decided closer to event, but there will be some type
of picnic for the members most likely on Friday..
Banquet – Buffet Style which will include 2 entree’s, 2 starches and 2 vegetables, desert and drink.
Note – As we did with the 2016 banquet, our chapter will have beer and wine available
outside the banquet area so members can enjoy a drink with dinner at no cost.
Rides: Exact rides have not been determined yet. But rides to the Navel Air Museum (free), Biloxi Casino’s (free), Ride around Mobile Bay (cost of ferry) have been well attended in the past and will be considered. Self-guided rides to the U.S.S. Alabama, Mardi Gras Museum, Maritime Museum (it’s new), Mobile Delta Cruises (new) and OWA Amusement Park (New) and other points of interest will also be available.
Hospitality Room: Our 3,000 square feet hospitality room will serve as the hospitality room as well as the room for chapter sales, any vendors and silent auction. Hospitality room will be open daily for Water, soft drinks and beer and in the evenings with Liquor and Wine also available along with snacks.
Silent Auction and Chinese Auction: As usual we would anticipate an excellent selection of silent auction items and chines auction items, although specific items have not yet been solicited. We would expect to secure some hotel coupons for the stay at the Ashbury, some signed books by Joe Wambaugh and some coupons good at resort hotels.
T-Shirts: As usual we will have our graphic artist design an outstanding event T-shirt. The shirt will be designed, if we are designated as the host chapter. The t-shirts will be sold, in addition to the registration fee. As you may recall, the 2016 conference was a sell out with T-shirts and as the conference was almost over, we found 3 additional shirts and auctioned them off at the banquet. The design was so well liked the first shirt sold at the auction for $65. We would expect the quality of this design to rival the 2016 shirts.
Other: we anticipate also securing the discount coupon books (like we had in 2011 and 2016) where members attending the event, can utilize coupons for various local eating establishments getting discounts or buy one / get one.

Randy Hoagland put on a great proposal to host the Intl Convention in Gwinett GA and was almost a unanimous vote to go to Stone Mountain.
